A motley crew of retirees expect to spend their peaceful golden years in a picture-perfect retirement community called The Boroughs, only to discover that they must join forces to fight a supernatural threat. Created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, and executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, this 8-part series mashes sci-fi and senior citizenry in a way that never gets old.

Concept Development
Inspired by mid-century communities in the Southwest, The Boroughs is a sunny Shangri-La that exudes optimism and modernity, it's even got its own closed circuit broadcast system, a self-contained network linking all the residents together. That’s where we begin, with a test pattern that pulls you into the familiar glow of the living room tv screen. The scrambled signal hypnotically travels through desert landscapes and vibrant sunsets as the hues of this New Mexico paradise glitch into something that is sunny, seductive…and sinister.
