Overview

“Poppy” is an opening video for the multi-editor project in my amateur motion club DXS. Based on the pairing between “soda” and “communication device”, I explored the communicative nature of the beverage as a social medium.

The theme comes from the background music Poppy - Stayc. The lyrics compare one’s heart to a soft drink, describing how love and happiness can burst like carbonated bubbles.

So how can I visualize this notion?

Concept Development

I broke down the general idea of the lyrics into five keywords: soda, audible, unheard voices, convey a feeling, and explosion.

Through word association and recombination, the final concept was created: the pairing of “soda” and “communication devices”.
