Overview
In this passion project, I try to visualize emotion as a topological aggregate, with the intention of showing Chinese teenagers that emotional diversity is natural. Also, I hope that through the process of making this project, I personally will become more aware of my emotions and learn to accept them.

Inspiration & Challenges
The theme was inspired by a song One - My Hair is Bad. In this song, the singer’s voice alone acts as multiple emotions like a monologue. At the end of the song, the lyrics say, “Even though a person may experience various emotions, his or her heart remains unified. ”
The impressive observation drew my eyes to the topic of emotional diversity. This also reminded me of the repressed attitude toward emotions in Chinese society. Could I mitigate this problem using visual language?
Solution
Concept Development
People can experience various kinds of emotions, but the original nature of them will not change; just as in topology, the properties of a geometric object can remain invariant under continuous deformations.
Therefore, I decided to use the sphere as a primitive geometry. By deforming the sphere, I would simulate the generation and changes of diverse emotions.
